29 September 2015: The Justice Committee considered PE1567 by Donna O'Halloran on investigating unascertained deaths, suicides and fatal accidents in Scotland and agreed to write to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service seeking information on the evaluation of suspicious death investigations by Police Scotland and to keep the petition open. 5 January 2016: The Justice Committee considered PE1567 by Donna O'Halloran on investigating unascertained deaths, suicides and fatal accidents in Scotland and agreed to write to the Cabinet Secretary for Justice asking what assurances can be given to families who question the validity of a police investigation and subsequent decision made by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, and to keep the petition open. What do you think?
Should Scotland treat unascertained, suicides and accidental deaths the same way they do in other civilised countries, treat them as suspicious until proven otherwise?
England carry out approx. 30,000 Inquiries a year to keep in standard with European laws, why can’t Scotland?
