Reporting a Complaint

We all have a responsibility to make sure we have an environment where sexual harassment and sexual misconduct are not tolerated, so if you see something, say something.

What you decide to do in terms of reporting an incident will depend on a range of factors, such as the seriousness of the behaviour, whether it’s a recurring issue and the outcome you would like.  Further information on raising your concerns is available and the Independent Support Service can provide you with advice, emotional support and access to an advocacy worker who can help you deal with your complaint.  They can also signpost you to other agencies as appropriate. This service is provided by an external organisation (OH Assist) and is available Monday to Friday 9am to 10pm on 0800 756 9969. 

If you decide to make a formal complaint this should be made using the template complaint form (PDF 391 KB) which should then be submitted to the Independent Support Service at [email protected]

Reporting to the Police 

If you’re being harassed and you feel you're in danger you should contact the police on 999.  For non-emergencies call 101.  You can contact them directly at or contact your local community team. There is a specific form available for reporting stalking.

If you work within the Scottish Parliament building, there is a dedicated Police Unit that you can contact directly to report a crime or incident in the strictest confidence. You can make contact either by phoning 0131 348 5126 or emailing [email protected].
