To consider and report on a) the financing and delivery of local government and local services, and b) planning, and c) matters relating to regeneration falling within the responsibility of the Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure and Capital Investment.

The Committee reports to the Parliament as follows—
1. The Local Electoral Administration (Scotland) Act 2011 (Consequential Amendments) Order 2012 (SSI 2011/draft) was laid before the Parliament on 14 December 2011. The Order was subject to the affirmative procedure.
2. The purpose of the Order is to make consequential amendments to the Representation of the People Act 1983, the Local Electoral Administration and Registration Services (Scotland) Act 2006 and the Representation of the People (Postal Voting for Local Government Elections) (Scotland) Regulations 2007 all in consequence of provisions within the Local Electoral Administration (Scotland) Act 2011.
3. At its 2nd meeting 2012, held on 25 January 2012, the Local Government and Regeneration Committee considered the draft Local Electoral Administration (Scotland) Act 2011 (Consequential Amendments) Order 2012.
4. The Committee took evidence on the instrument from the Minister for Local Government and Planning.
5. Derek Mackay MSP (Minister for Local Government and Planning), moved motion S4M-01687—
That the Local Government and Regeneration Committee recommends that the Local Electoral Administration (Scotland) Act 2011 (Consequential Amendments) Order 2012 be approved.
6. The motion was agreed to.
