The Legislation Team handles the introduction of all Bills and the publication of Bills and Acts; assists committee teams with amendments to Bills; provides clerking support for consideration of Bills in the Chamber, and provides advice on all aspects of legislative procedure. In addition, the team also deals with the production of Bill Bound Volumes.
Please note that the Legislation Team is unable to give advice on the general law of Scotland or on the legal interpretation of statutes. Anyone seeking advice on the implementation of a Scottish Government Bill already passed by the Scottish Parliament (including information on the commencement date of such a Bill) is advised to contact the Government directly.
