Announcement
Community Charge Debt (Scotland) Bill
Subject to:
- the Parliament’s agreement on Wednesday 28 January to motion number S4M-12183 on the suspension of Standing Orders, and
- the Parliament’s agreement on Thursday 29 January to motion number S4M-12176 on the Bill’s general principles,
Members should note the timetable set out below for Stage 2 consideration of the Community Charge Debt (Scotland) Bill.
The Finance Committee expects to consider the Bill at Stage 2 on Wednesday 4 February. Amendments cannot be formally lodged until after the Bill’s general principles are agreed to; if the general principles are agreed to, the deadline for lodging Stage 2 amendments will be 4.30pm on Friday 30 January. While amendments can only be formally lodged on Friday 30 January, it would be helpful if members gave advance notice of any proposed amendments to the clerks in the Legislation Team (Room T1.01; email [email protected] ). The clerks will advise on the wording and admissibility of amendments in preparation for their formal lodging on Friday 30 January.
