About the Bill
A Bill for an Act of the Scottish Parliament to make provision for electronic monitoring of offenders and as to certain other restrictive measures imposable on offenders; to make provision about periods and processes as regards disclosure of convictions by offenders; and to make provision relating to the organisation and functions of the Parole Board for Scotland.
Current Status of the Bill
This Scottish Government Bill was introduced by the Cabinet Secretary for Justice, Michael Matheson MSP, on 22 February 2018. The Bill is currently at Stage 1.
Stage 1
The Justice Committee was designated the lead Committee for Stage 1 scrutiny.
The Committee launched a call for views on 16 March 2018. The deadline for responses was Friday 20 April 2018.
Evidence
The Committee began taking evidence on the Bill on 24 April 2018.
