The main purpose of the Bill is to amend the Health and Social Care (Community Health and Standards) Act 2003 to include industrial diseases within its scope.

Current Status of the Bill
The Bill was introduced in the Scottish Parliament by Stuart McMillan MSP on 9 March 2020.
Stage 1
The Health and Sport Committee has been designated as lead committee for Stage 1 scrutiny.
Financial Memorandum
As with all Bills, the Finance and Constitution Committee invites written evidence on the estimated financial implications of the Bill as set out in its accompanying Financial Memorandum (FM).
The Financial Memorandum published alongside the Bill sets out the estimated costs of introducing the legislation and the additional receipts that are expected to be generated as a result of the changes proposed. Before making a submission, please read our Privacy Notice about submitting your views to a Committee. This tells you about how we process your personal data.
Please note that in most cases your written submission will be published on the Scottish Parliament's website and may be quoted in the Committee's report or in Committee meetings (which are public and broadcast). Please use the questionnaire provided for your submission.
