On 30 October 2013, the Infrastructure and Capital Investment Committee agreed to consider the issues raised in the petition as part of the Committee's scrutiny of the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Bill.

On 28 May 2014, following the conclusion of Stage 3 of the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Bill, the Committee considered this petition, and agreed to write to the petitioners to seek their view on the Scottish Government's action on blacklisting through the Bill.

The petitioners responded on 13 June 2014 asking the Committee to keep the petition open and to address certain points.
On 13 August, the Committee considered the email of 13 June in response to the Committee’s request for views on the actions undertaken by the Scottish Government through the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Bill to address blacklisting in Scotland. The Committee agreed to keep this petition open, and to write to the Scottish Government asking for its comments on what progress has been made and what discussions have taken place with the trade unions on further guidance, and whether it has any intention of instructing a public inquiry on blacklisting.

On 10 October the Committee recieved a response from the Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure, Investment and Cities to its letter of 20 August, following actions agreed at the Committee's 13 August meeting.
On 5 November the Committee considered the petition. The committee agreed to close the petition and to continue to monitor the blacklisting issue as part of future scrutiny of procurement related issues.
