Dairy Industry - Inquiry

 

Remit

The Rural Affairs, Climate Change and Environment Committee is to hold a short inquiry into the dairy industry, as the price of a two litre carton of milk reduces to £1 and dairy firm First Milk delays payments to farmers.

The Committee issued a news release on the inquiry on Friday 16 January.

Correspondence

At its meeting on the 28 January, the Committee agreed to write to the Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Food and the Environment on the dairy industry inquiry.  The letter was sent 20 February 2015.

The Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Food and the Environment responded to the Committee on 24 March 2015 and included a copy of the Scottish Government's Dairy Action Plan.
