Remit
The Education and Culture Committee focused their consideration of the Scottish Government’s budget on spending on schools. To assist the Committee’s
consideration we asked all local authorities to supply some basic
information.
Evidence
It is not possible to directly compare each of these returns as the underlying basis for each is not identical. For example some authorities have included central service support costs and support service charges while others have not. Different approaches to Devolved School Management costs and support service recharges have been taken. These are in addition to expected local differences between authorities reflecting local and demographic issues as well as local prioritisations.
