About The Committee

The key role of the Sub-Committee is to consider and report on the operation of the Police and Fire Reform (Scotland) Act 2012 as it relates to policing. The 2012 Act established the Police Service of Scotland (“Police Scotland”) and the Scottish Police Authority, which is charged with oversight of Police Scotland.

During the campaign recess, committees will continue to exist but are not expected to meet after 25 March unless there is a recall of parliament. All committees cease to exist at dissolution on 5 May.
