In its 5th Report published in May 2009, Accuracy of Contributions in Parliamentary Proceedings, the Standards, Procedures and Public Appointments Committee considered a significant number of issues relating to the procedures governing the accuracy of contributions in parliamentary proceedings, including: current rules and practices; the role of the Presiding Officer; the Scottish Ministerial Code and the use of independent advisers and use of points of order in this context. Since then the Committee has considered further the issues raised in that report, and makes recommendations on an additional correction mechanism and guidance.
