A Bill for an Act of the Scottish Parliament to make provision about private rented housing; in particular to establish a new type of tenancy to be known as a private residential tenancy.

Current Status of the Bill

This Scottish Government Bill was introduced by Alex Neil MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Communities and Pensioners' Rights, on 7 October 2015.

The Bill was passed by the Parliament on 17 March 2016 and received Royal Assent on 22 April 2016.
