Major Capital Projects

The Committee receives 6 monthly updates from the Scottish Government on its Major Capitals Projects investment programme and considers them at subsequent meetings. At its meeting on 26 June 2013, the Committee agreed to write to the Permanent Secretary on issues raised and invite him to give oral evidence at a future meeting.

The Committee took evidence from the Permanent Secretary to the Scottish Government, at its meeting on 4 September 2013. The Committee invited Scottish Government and Audit Scotland officials to work with Committee clerks on a proposed reporting template for future 6 monthly Scottish Government Major Capital Projects updates. The revised format can be seen in the updates immediately below. It will be piloted for a year.

At its meeting on 30 April 2015, the Committee considered the Scottish Government's March 2015 Major Capital Projects update and took evidence from the Scottish Government. The Committee agreed its approach to Major Capital Projects updates in future.

At its meeting on 7 October 2015, the Committee considered the Scottish Government's September 2015 Major Capital Projects update and took evidence from the Scottish Government. The Committee agreed to write to the Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Constitution and Economy and the Public Accounts Committee at Westminster on issues raised in discussion.

At its meeting on 9 December 2015, the Committee considered responses from the Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Constitution and Economy and the Public Accounts Committee at Westminster. The Committee agreed to note the responses.
