The Convener (Bill Butler): : Good afternoon, colleagues. I welcome you to the Stirling-Alloa-Kincardine Railway and Linked Improvements Bill Committee's seventh meeting in 2004. We are quorate in line with rule 12.2.1 of standing orders, as all committee members are present. I ask members to switch off any mobile phones or pagers.

Does the committee agree to take in private agenda item 3 today and its draft consideration stage report at future meetings?

Members indicated agreement.

Proposed Amendment

The Convener: : The committee has paper SAK/S2/04/7/1, which explains the background to the objection from Mr Brydie and Mr Anderson to the proposed amendment about the Balfour Street level-crossing. We are invited to give the objection preliminary consideration and to consider the supplementary accompanying documents that the promoter has produced.

Members will note that paragraph 6 of paper SAK/S2/04/7/1 suggests that the objection meets the requirements of standing orders. Do we agree that the objection should go forward for substantive consideration?

Members indicated agreement.

The Convener: : The supplementary documents that the promoter has produced to allow the objection process to proceed appear to be adequate to allow substantive consideration of the objection. Do members agree?

Members indicated agreement.

The Convener: : That concludes agenda item 2. I invite members of the public, the official report and broadcasting services to leave the room, because the committee is going into private session, as agreed.

: Meeting continued in private until 13:06.
