Information to help you plan your visit to the Parliament is available in British Sign Language (BSL) with English subtitles. The Visiting the Scottish Parliament video includes information on getting to the Parliament, the security checks, what you can do on a visit and the services and facilities for visitors.
On Arrival at the Scottish Parliament
Hearing loops are fitted in the key visitor areas of the Scottish Parliament, including the Visitor Information Desk, Café and Shop.
Some Scottish Parliament staff can use BSL and may be able to answer questions about what you can do on your visit. However, staff who know BSL may not always be available.
Assistance dogs are permitted in the Parliament building. Water bowls for assistance dogs can be obtained from the Visitor Information Desk.

Videos in the exhibition include subtitles and BSL interpretation.
Guided Tours and Ten Minute Talks
There is a portable hearing loop available for use during Guided Tours and 10 Minute Talks. This connects to hearing aids which have a "T-Switch". There are also portable audio-enhancement headsets available for visitors to use with headphones provided. Portable loops and audio-enhancement headsets can be reserved at the time of booking a tour or through a member of Visitor Services on arrival at the Scottish Parliament.

Guided tours are available with a BSL interpreter when requested in advance (please contact Visitor Services and give at least two weeks' notice if possible).

Hearing loops are installed in the Debating Chamber and Committee Rooms. This connects to hearing aids which have a "T-Switch".
There are audio-enhancement headsets available for visitors to use in the Debating Chamber and Committee Rooms.
If you want to attend a meeting in the Chamber or a committee meeting and need a British Sign Language interpreter or other support, please contact Visitor Services as soon as possible. You are advised to give at least two weeks’ notice if possible.

Emergency Evacuation
In the event of an emergency situation the building will be evacuated. Visitors are asked to follow the evacuation signs and the instructions of Parliament staff. Parliament staff will assist visitors in leaving the building during an emergency.
